History
After many years of sailing, George Rensen went ashore and at the age of 33 he took up a commercial job at a ship mortgage bank. As George Rensen planned to set up his own business after several years, he incorporated Rensen BV in 1980. At this company he began to focus on shipbrokerage. After some time George Rensen was sworn in as a shipbroker and he planned to be more than a broker for the sale and purchase of existing vessels. George Rensen then decided to become a specialist in the design, construction and completion-build of hulls.
The brokerage services for the sale and purchase of existing vessels was taken on by Wim Driessen at the company in 2006, after which Wim Driessen renamed the company Rensen-Driessen Scheepsmakelaardij BV. As a result of the company’s solid expansion, Twan de Goeij was recruited as a shipbroker. Wim Driessen and Twan de Goeij, both EMCI-certified shipbrokers, used to work in inland shipping. Wim Driessen has now started to focus on the new build of inland vessels.
